Leonardo da Vinci Swing Bridge

Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) is widely considered to have been one of the most brilliant minds in history, with an impressive resume in the arts, literature, the sciences, engineering, and many other pursuits. This is a pre-painted kit of his idea for a portable bridge--it was intended to be used by armies on the move, and was quick to assemble and disassemble. A clever system of articulated wheels and winches enabled this bridge to be rotated 90 degrees to span a body of water after assembly on land.
