| I've used the Tamiya brand tapes for years as they have just the right amount of adhesive for model masking work and are made of good quality paper. However, sometimes I wish they made the stuff in thinner widths then 6mm. Enter Aizu brand tapes. I picked up all the sizes at Wonderfest this year and have been using them on a current model project. Wow, I like this stuff. Near as I can tell it is exactly the same stuff as Tamiya brand in color, thickness and adhesive, but it is cut thinner. As a result, you can flex it around complex shapes a little easier. Masking thin stripe lines is also easier. The adhesive behaves the same and comes off when I want it to without damage to the paint underneath or leaving behind any adhesive. It is also waterproof to a certain extent, meaning it will stay on if you need to clean the surface of your model with a wet cleaner before painting the next layer on. BTW, it also comes in really handy for quickie cockpit seatbelts as well. Add these to your supply arsenal and you won't be disappointed. | |
